I really used to like Mr. Pierce, even recommended his books before, but now...If I have to hear one more time that Kate Wise is fifty-five, I'll scream. Ditto with the retirement. And her tiresome thoughts about what she should do? She's a whiner. We readers aren't stupid and don't need to be hit over the head repeatedly.Why is it every single time these two agents have a possible suspect, we're reading, "OMG, this is him, isn't it?" by either DeMarco or Wise? That's ridiculous. Each time they find a suspect, right from the earliest part of the story, they make that comment and within a page or two Wise gets a nagging feeling he's not really the right suspect. If this is their high skilled investigation techniques, ANYONE could join the FBI.Finally, who is editing these books? While talking to Dr. Ethridge, Wise asked her to talk about two possible suspects. Down the page a few sentences, Wise asks the Dr. to look at the trio of names left. ?? There were missing words all over the place, too.I'm incredibly saddened by the books. I wish I would have been forewarned about the bad language in this book.
